Hey, I am thinking about starting to use AllOfMP3.com to get music, but I can't seem to find their rates for download. Can someone link me to them? Also, how good is the quality? What bitrates can you DL at? Thanx in advance.

Its all answered in their FAQ. Most of the files are $0.01 per MB, the MB depend on the bitrate, most of their files you can choose any bitrate and filetype you want.

I used paypal and went for the 15 dollar deal. I've downloaded ten dollars worth of music and can't believe how much I got. I'm actually having to scratch my head and dig a little to spend the remaining five. (I got everything encoded at 128). The selection is pretty darn good, and I've had no problems with the service. Downloads seem to hover around 90 K or so, fast enough to get several albums in an hour. Currently still legal in the U.S. according to what I've read, but that may not last forever. Get in while the getting's good...

I've already downloaded 2.53gigs from the site (most at 192 mp3). They make you install a homegrown downloading program which is easy to use and provides all the useful info about your account and even track what you have previously downloaded. You only need to run this program when you are ready to download, you can surf the site queue up the songs and then download at your convenience. Plus they get new stuff everyday.

I have over 20.4 GB of music from them...a bit over 5,200 songs. Most of them I downloaded when it was 1,000 songs for $14.95. Now that its $0.01 per MB i've curbed my downloading and only spent another $10.00. The service is top notch and out of all my songs I only found 2 bad ones. I got credit for both of them and re-downloaded them when they told me they were fixed.
I requested Velvet Revolver's new CD and a few days later it was on their site.

Nah, it's not required. I've been downloading from them for a few months now and only used flashget.
tifosiv122: thanks for requesting velvet revolver. I was waiting for allofmp3 to make it available since the actual cd has an unfair DMR. I know there's a way around it, but it's the principle of the thing I'm not going to support.

It does that once in a while, but as soon as you get it in English use their Explorer to download, then just bring up the homepage when you need it through the Explorer.Works EVERY time and the site is a blast! They have some weird and obscure shit on there. And at less than a buck an album you cant go wrong. However the IT guy at work advised me to make $10 cc payments through Paypal just to be on the safe side!

do their downloads have any restrictions, such as limited number of burns or devices they can be played on?
//edit - to answer my own question, no, there are no restrictions. you just get a pure, drm free file. =]

well...i'd say an average song is 3-5 megabytes at 128kb. so, that'll cost about 3-5 cents. do the math for a full album. lets just say, i signed up, payed 5$, have downloaded 4 full albums, and used less than 3$ of my credit. this is so awesome. let's hope they don't get shut down.

If a cd/song is not currently available on allofmp3.com how do you go about requesting that it be made available? I've looked all over the site and can't find it. I'm hoping they get the Bob Dylan 30th Anniversary show in MSG. Great guest appearances by Eric Clapton, Neil Young, and Dylan himself. Thanks.

Very cool site indeed. I'm deeply amused to see that they have the Wolfsheim album that I couldn't rip to MP3 because it was copy protected (whined about that on an earlier thread). That's pretty funny. I'll probably sign up to get a few things here and there, they have a lot of nice synthpop and industrial stuff as well. Thanks for the tip!

you pick the bitrate and format after you choose the songs. Yes, you have to pay, but only because a higher bitrate will be a bigger file.

Sounds interesting..what are the download speeds like at this site?
Also, if you find something you really like on allofmp3, please support the artist by purchasing the music here in the good old USA. This goes mainly for the smaller, independent artists. They need our support to keep making great music.
As for the big name major-label stuff, fuck em.

I have a tip... If you know the artist and the song you are looking for is not coming up... go to the music browser and go alphabetically to the artist and then find the song from within the artist. This I have found especially useful for artists that have hyphens or &'s in the name. Like I searched "Anti Flag" and it didn't come up... however, when Iwent ot he browser I found out that this artist could be found in "Anti-Flag"... give that a shot if you are having trouble finding certain songs/artists.

This is my first post. I am coming out of lurk mode to share some information with fellow forum users.
I have been using allofmp3.com for a few months now. A couple of days ago, I received a letter from my bank notifying me that visa fraud control was closing my current debt card account, and reissuing me a new debt card because my "debt card account number has been compromised at a merchant". I cannot verify that it was XROST, but the information at the link below makes me believe that it could have been.

Another really good Russian site is MP3Search.ru (http://www.MP3Search.ru), instead of charging by the megabyte they charge by the song (10 cents each). They have a huge selection, comparable or bigger than Allofmp3, the downside is that they don't have a companion program like AllOfMp3 Explorer, and the tracks don't come with ID3 tags (if you want them you have to create your own). If you start out with $30.00 they give you $3.00 free, which is 30 free songs, not bad.

I've ordered a couple hundred tracks of allofmp3.com, and I think it's the best music service that's been offered so far. The Explorer is easy to use, and the selection is growing pretty rapidly (I think they're up to about 300,000). And the price doesn't hurt either :D. The only problem I've had was using the credit card to purchase music, but that was the companys fault anyway so that doesn't really count.
