Dell DJ Firmware Upgrade
I have installed this upgrade and have posted a walkthrough. There is not much to see, but hey, its something.

I have not noticed anything wrong with the DJ so far, I have played over 100 hours of music already and tested it extensively. I decided that I had to at least install the firmware upgrade already on the Dell.com site. After the install, the only difference I noticed is the version changed in the information section.

Is there a changelog for this new firmware version?

Interesting, mine arrived with the 1.00.09 version already on it.
At least they're working on it, that's always a good thing.

Mine came with the 09 version also. I would guess that the press that recieved the beta versions for testing and reviews found a situation, and this firmware update addresses that.

That works out very nicely for the end consumer, but I'm afraid it more or less leaves Dell in a bad situation. Say that a review criticized the device because of a problem, that was then fixed before the devices got shipped to consumers. It would keep people from buying it, but the problem isn't there. Very few sites go back and do a follow-up per firmware revision as well.

This is not a firmware update, this is the initial production release of the firmware. Your unit probably came with a pre-production firmware since you recieved the unit before the official product release. This is very common for most hardware vendors, they send the best firmware/BIOS available at the time so the product can be reviewed as soon as the need arises. They use the feedback from these tests and reviews to try and improve their product before the initial release.
Just an FYI, you'll notice this firmware was posted on the Dell website the day of the product release wich is very common place for Dell products.

This a very common pratice in the technology sector. It works out great for the consumer and the vendor. Most reviews of pre-production devices are done with in a very close relationship between the reviewer and the vendor. If any major issues are found during a review the vendor will do there best to make sure it is taken care of and mentioned in the review at the time of release if need be. This is great pratice for Dell and companies like Dell. Its the power of a great marketing machine.
