DAPreview has some info on the Micro Photo saying that it will have 8 gb's in the same size as a regular Micro, and will have 15 hours of battery life.

Yeah but when's it coming out!?!?! It seems like they've been talking about this thing for months...

IMO, the Zen Micro is one of the best players because it is so small, but still has lots of great features. Making a color-screen version could help or hurt it. People could just buy it because it is the newest and coolest thing, or people could see no need for the color screen and nobody would buy it. It's usually a mix of the two, but you never know.

its late.... its late.... its late.... its late....

and it only holds 8gb? Thats the max btw that a Seagate ST1 drive can hold.

it certainly looks nice, and 8 gigs for $249 isn't so bad...

Photos AND music.... with only 8Gig of space????

No thanks.

Put that color screen on a 20/30Gig DJ and I'll be the first in line to buy it :approve:

Well the iRiver 5 gig had a color screen and sold well...but they also came out with a 20 gb version anyway. But for someone who has a small music collection (around 5 gigs), this is a great player to store photos on. Photos take up such little space anyway. And DM, the article said around September, which is definitely late. But maybe they're waiting to release it at the same time as other players like the iRiver u10?

First it was suppose to of been released in June... Then they said ok how about July? No wait... August... yea we'll get it out in August... Now they say September?

Seems to me that Creative doesn't have their heads straight on timing. Its the same deal with the Zen Touch PlaysForSure firmware. "its coming!..... soon!" lol how soon is soon? Soon with Creative is not a few days or weeks... more like months

At least we DJ'ers got our PlaysForSure firmware and an update to it, while Creative's own Zen Touch got nothing...... yet

The Zen Sleek is supposedly the Zen Touch replacement, but Creative isn't shedding any light to that rumor. It just seems to fit given the capacity and what it can do, surely the 'next' Zen Touch.

Sure its great that Creative is coming out with a color screen player, whose screen is much better than the iPod's given the specs which have been published in various websites over the course of this year. But this is long overdue for Creative, and most are shocked that they opted to release the non-colorful Zen Sleek over the long anticipated Zen Micro Photo.

It's interesting how companies have different launch strategies. Some like to announce products months in advance while others try keep theirs secret right up until they're available. I guess both methods have their plus & minus points.

As much as I agree with DM, I really like the Micro Photo, even though it's months late. The OLED screen probably looks great. I guess I really like it because 8 gigs for music and photos would be perfect for me. I also can't wait to see the iRiver u10 in America, I think it looks really good.

It's nice to know that Creative is putting such a high-res OLED screen in one of their products..... hopefully it means Dell will be doing the same ;)

It is, but this is Creative's FIRST color screen DAP. By the time this comes out, it will almost be year since iRiver and Apple came out w/ color players. Samsung also put out color players, so did companies such as iBead or MPeye. Creative is supposed to be a company that makes really good DAP's, and it's taken them this long to keep up with the competition?

Maybe Creative just wants to make sure it works right.

It seems as though every DAP company puts out their player.... and THEN fixes it with firmware updates.

They will definately be the biggest competitors with the ipod mini. You get two more gigs, plus fm radio and recording, plus a color screen for the same price...

Although I don't have a clue why it has taken them 9 months to get it in stores...
