The ROKR???? What, are we unable to use vowels when making phones now?

If you're making a call on your phone, do we now have to be called CALR's?

Looks cool, but alas, the cingular coverage here is very minimal to say the least. I am hoping it gets better since they are unionized!! Gotta support the Unions!

Awww, ain't that cute! I bet the stereo "speakers" just blow your doors off. Let me guess...you can download protected AAC songs from iTunes straight to the phone to the transflash card and then you CAN'T move them to your pc to Itunes and burn them, you can only play them on your phone. Am I right?

Ha, and you still have to pay the "download fee", so songs are like $1.30 each.

Outrageous. But..can you put purchased AAC tracks on the transflash card and play them on the phone? Cuts down on the impulse buying but expands the Itunes users' options for the phone music. Do they include a stereo headset for your $250? That's a lot for a phone with a 2 year agreement.

The iTunes client for the phone does not include the iTMS. It syncs with your music library through iTunes like an iPod. Think of it as an iPod with cell phone capabilities.

You'll be pretty surprised when you hear one of these first hand.

Wonder how much better it is than the current MP3 player phones Motorola has out there like the V710 and the V635. Those have an option to buy an MP3 player accessory for like $200 or more? The supplied headphones are a joke and remind me of the Dell earbuds. I wonder how much better the addon would of been. It'll be interesting to see how this phone gets marketed and if indeed people will drop the iPods and go for iPhonopod......

It costs More, and does less. Like the iPod. But it's easier... like the iPod!

Windows Mobile Smartphones with Windows Media Player 10 (which, over iTunes has a custom equalizer, more movie playing options, and folder integration so you don't have to go through Windows Media on your PC) are cheaper, can do way way more, and might as well be even better devices, what with Motorola being Motorola.

Also, because WM supports MiniSD, you get 1GB or memory over 512; double the swappable memory.

iTunes does offer custom EQ. You can make as many as you want and assign them on a per track or album basis. iTunes supports a bunch of video codecs, except for WMV. But, on the other hand Media Player doesn't support H.264.

I have the Motorola V710 with a 125mb transcast card and addon stereo earbuds. That setup allows me to store mp3s and playlists via my pc. To play them I only have to go to the card's songs and start playing whatever (no folders, artists, only tracks or playlists). It works. The buds sound fine. I can only advance to the next selection or change volume using the phone controls though. No easy to use menu for playing audio. No EQ. Kind of primative compared to my DJ. But it works and actually sounds good. I'm sure the ipod phone does a better job though.
