Here's an article on the new Sony MP3 Walkman. It's looking rather sexy with it's OLED screen and whatnot. Still sucks that you have to use the Connect/Sonicstage softwarae, but whatever. Maybe people will start to call them walkmans again. Nah.

Looks cool, but I don't know about those headphones, they look similar to Dells.

I like how Sony makes the displays on their players. Seemless, and that makes it look great!

The actual images of it don't look too nice, but I have yet to see an image of it powered on (I'm sure it looks cooler) and I'd also have to see it myself to pass judgement.

Also it seems that they're ditching Sonic Stage for the Connect Player.

Looks really nice, but still ships with crappy software. Sony doesn't realize that looks isn't their problem. But did they need to come out with another 20 gig player? They should have just put this out with 6 gigs.

It ships with Sony iTun...err Connect Player. Whether its as good as iTunes (which its a clear knock off of) or not has yet to be seen but it already looks better than Sonic Stage.

The player itself supposedly supports wma also.

"Sony WALKMAN is a true extension of the user’s personal taste and musical preferences. At the press of a button, the ‘Artist Link’ function will search every artist, album and song stored on the device and offer suggestions of artists and bands closely linked to the genre of music being played at the time."

very promising.

So it'll support WMA.... But will it support WMA DRM (aka PlaysForSure)?

After all, wasn't it Sony BMG who is making all their CD's with the WMA encryption?

Actually I take back what I said about the software, the screenshot makes me think the software is much similar ...and it looks like iTunes, so maybe it's not half bad but you never know. The only things that's bad about this type of display, is that...it's near impossible to see it in direct sunlight...I'm mean just from the glare from the finger prints in the pictures it's hard to see the display. It does look really cool though.

So, at least it looks that Sony is doing some things right. I mean, all the complaints that were made are, even if slowly, being rectified. No more Sonicstage software, yay. WMA support, and whatnot. So, who knows..this could be Sony's time. Maybe.
