Anyone else notice they are selling Creative MP3 players at the Dell website now? They have the Zen stuff -Muvo, Nomad Jukebox (all sizes) and even the Zen portable media player.

I guess they are "coming out" concerning their relationship with Creative! :)

It does make me a wee bit nervous that Dell may eventually give up on the DJ and just sell the Creative MP3 players. I just ordered something for my office from Dell today and when I asked the rep if they had anything new in the pipeline for the DJ he just kinda laughed and mentioned the Creative players. Hmmm...

The 30GB you have pictured and is 60GB mate looks appealing, as it has several features not available on the Dell DJ such as quick scroller navigation, playlist creation and automatic ID3 tag categorization.

They've been selling them long time now. They are under the accessories page. I've even seen iRivers and Samsungs in the past.....

I've said it many times. I wager that the DJ begins and ends in a Creative shop, Dell buys them, sells them and ships them only. A long time ago some geek estimated the price of a 20gb player at $140 (including headphones and packaging) for the parts. Minus volume discounts plus assembly/marketing. Maybe they make some money on it, maybe not. But they really wanna have tech accessories in their catalogue, not lead the industry on DMPs like Apple.

Dell having their own dmp has the same benifits as the ipod does for apple. It builds brand recognition and loyality which they hope transfers over to the pc/mac side.

I know whatever I buy next will have to have a color screen.

Color screen is the current norm, just like cellphones, cause everyone has digital photos to tote around and show. I wouldn't be surprised to see an mp3 player with a camera come out soon. Why not?
