So how much does the ROKR phone hold? HAHAHAHA he better take a good look at how much his own product holds before questioning the Nano...... :lolhair:

He was saying that nobody needs 1,000 songs on their device. I think he is pissed that Apple upstaged the release of the ROKR with the Nano. Of course, he should know better than to vent in public. It shows investors that he is worried about the success of the ROKR.

It's insulting to have a 512mb card in the phone and only get to have 100 songs. If he really believes people need both a phone and a player in one device he'd better get busy and make a better music player('cause this 'aint it).

Hehe I saw this yesterday and thought it was funny. He's just annoyed that his POS phone got barely any attention at all next to the Nano. Well the nano is a groundbreaking product. And the Rokr is just another phone. The nano is the first 4 gig flash player, the first pencil thin 4 gig mp3 player, and its just so cool. His phone has no style, and it intoduces nothing new besides its integration with itunes, which is no big deal at all. And i hear the itunes on the phone works terribly. And what else is that there's a 100 song limit, even if you put a whole gigabyte of memory in the slot.

Nice. I wonder which company is going to get the next deal to make an itunes phone because Motorola isn't going to be it ^^;

I read somewhere today that Motorola are now saying that his 'joke' was taken out of context and that he was just kidding around with a journalist. Sounds like panic to me.

Yeah, the ROKR is really overrated. There are plenty of other mp3 player phones with expandable memory bigger than 1 gig

^What do you mean overrated? I have yet to hear anyone say anything good about the phone.

I think he means that there was so much hype for this phone before it came out, and now people realize that it's just another phone that plays mp3s. I think iTunes integration is hurting more than it's helping it. Place like cnet that have reviewed the phone say that the iTunes menus are really sluggish, like it takes a couple seconds to see a list of artists after you select 'Artist,' or it takes a couple seconds for a song to start playing. PLUS there's a 100 song limit, no matter how much memory you put in the phone. And the memory slot is located behind the battery...why do they do that?

Most analysts say it was Apple's decision to neuter the phone so that the $249 ROKR would not affect sales of the Nano which is at the same price point. Whether that's true or not is up for debate but there's no reason Motorola would want to weaken their phone with an artificial limit. That leaves only Apple and Cingular to push for the limit, and Apple has the most to gain from it.
