Steve Jobs is moving one step closer to religious entity with the new requirement by Apple for a tithe of all revenues from manufacturing iPod port-pluggable accessories. Currently the license fee sits between 1 and 2%, and the bump to 10% might see some accessory makers closing down their iPod lines. Seems like Apple wants to dominate the MP3 Player & Accessory business.

Seems short sided to me. One of the biggest selling points for the Ipod are the accessories that are available.

This could easily be the end of Apple if it were to do that!

Of course this could be a big break for Dell/Creative. If they don't have deals inplace now, they ought to jump on it.
